Stem cell therapy for animals
AVECELL® is a veterinary project of Medical Centre Prague. The aim of this project is the research and application of new treatment methods using stem cells in veterinary medicine.
About our therapy
Stem cells are mainly used for the therapy of tendon injuries and other orthopedic problems in dogs and horses. Mesenchymal cells can also be used for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. When creating a stem cell product, the stem cells have to be collected from bone marrow. The collection does not harm animals in any way. Manufacturing the product takes about 14 days. The product is then applied by veterinarians. Compared with pharmacological therapy it has no adverse side effects.
Medical Centre Prague is a private healthcare company that focuses on clinical and experimental medicine. The founder and coordinator of the company is Radek Klubal, M.D., who sees the future of medicine in harnessing the regenerative potential of stem cells. So far, many studies confirming the positive effect of stem cell therapy in the treatment of orthopaedic problems (especially posttraumatic conditions), autoimmune and other diseases have been conducted. For this reason, Radek Klubal, M.D., has built a unique laboratory for Medical Centre Prague. The laboratory equipment and procedures meet the highest standards and cell products can be reproduced there under strict sterile conditions using top technologies.
Medical Centre Prague has obtained permission to manufacture the veterinary cell product (autologous mesenchymal stem cells) in May 2015 from the Institute for State Control of Veterinary Biologicals and Medicines.
